Tennis

Chances of Placement = 95%

You will work with a group of counselors and will teach kids basic and advanced techniques. Most of the kids are well experienced, so previous experience is a must. During the season, you will escort kids to tournaments in other camps.

Water Skiing

Chances of Placement = 95%

Previous experience is a MUST, and a boating license is a big advantage (please bring copy to the interview). The counselor will be a part of a team that will be in charge of daily instructional program for water skiing, care and maintenance of the boats. Obviously, counselor must have swimming experience and usually, you will attend a pre camp LSI / WSI Red Cross course.

Guitar Playing

Chances of Placement = 90%

If you have the experience, ability and desire to teach campers play the guitar – join in! As a guitar player, you will probably participate in musical events and other activities at camp. Experience in reading notes is required.

Israeli Folk Dance

Chances of Placement = 90%

If you’re a dancing “freak” – been dancing for many years, know how to teach some popular dance moves (not necessarily professionally), might have some Israeli music tapes at home – Camps are looking for you!! The position might include both teaching small groups of 10-20 kids, of even teaching the whole camp at special events or at Friday’s Shabbat service

Karate

Chances of Placement = 90%

If you are Karate “freak”, practiced for many years, and you have good level of Karate knowledge – Camps will be interested in you... During the daily practice sessions, you will teach and coach the kids Karate moves, logic and morals. You will have to adjust your coaching to different levels of skills, and different age groups.

Overnight Trips

Chances of Placement = 90%

This is one of the “Main Events” in camp. Activities like hiking, overnight trips, camp craft, animal care, cookery, cycling and nature are the “heart and soul” of any American camp. Activities like overnight trips will require participating in a pre-camp course prior to the arrival of other staff. Some of the activates will be held out of campgrounds (even for a few days) so if you are a ”traveler” by nature, you will enjoy teaching those activities.

Ropes (Snapling)

Chances of Placement = 90%

This is for the daredevils among you, who have previous experience climbing ropes or snapling in the wild! If you are afraid of highs – choose another activity… Previous experience is preferable, but not a must. The position includes attending a short preparation course, held 1 week before camp starts. Ropes counselor will be a part of the ropes team – teaching kids climbing 12-15 meters high walls and enjoying the zip line rides!!!

Song Leading

Chances of Placement = 90%

If you have musical background and you have sung before with a crowd (not only in the shower…), you can join one of camp’s most popular activities! As a song leader you will assist organizing and participate in special camp events: campfire, Shabbat services (songs, not prayers), musicals that required singing in-group, and assistance in organizing social events. Your skills will be very appreciated in immediate needs – such as rainy days, when the campers needs to be entertained on a short notice… If you’re spunky, happy and musical, you’re a song leader! If you can play the organ or guitar, that’s a HUGE advantage.

Speedboat Driver

Chances of Placement = 90%

Background in speedboat driving is a MUST - Boating license is a big advantage (please bring copy to the interview). The counselor will participate in any skiing activities, be responsible for the care and maintenance of the speedboats, keeping the safety rules with the kids etc. Counselor must have swimming experience. Usually, you will attend a pre camp LSI / WSI Red Cross course.

Swimming

Chances of Placement = 90%

You will supervise and instruct children of all ages in swimming. Previous knowledge is a must. You may be required to pass a “Red Cross” course before camp season starts. You have to be in good physical shape, have experience in swimming, have above average English skills and very good teamwork skills. Part of the job is to clean the pool every day. Usually, morning periods are for swimming class and the afternoons for free swim. All other waterfront activities are usually held in the lake throughout the day.

Animation

Chances of Placement = 85%

For those of you who has some experience with animation. The position includes teaching animation, comics, inventing new characters. If you are creative, join the Arts & crafts team, and teach kids how to express themselves through those techniques. Animation can be a lovely theme at camp, and we are looking for those special people that can spice up this subject along with the kids!

Basketball

Chances of Placement = 85%

Experienced basketball players will teach and coach kids at camp how to play basketball – moves, rules, tricks etc. A part of the counselor’s responsibilities will be to organize camp tournaments between age groups, between counselors, or against other camps.

Campcraft

Chances of Placement = 85%

Being in charge of camp craft means knowing your way outdoors – how to build a tent or small facilities, knowing to work with different knots and ropes, how to build a campfire, outdoors cooking (not just roasting marshmallows…). Teaching the kids (groups of all ages) camping, backpacking, and traditional outdoors activities (games, crafts). Most important - guiding the kids to respect the environment.

Ceramics

Chances of Placement = 85%

Counselors with skills and experience that can teach ceramics and/or pottery in any form (with or without potter's wheel). Knowledge in operating a kiln (oven) is a huge advantage. Position includes working in various techniques (construction through glazing) with kids of various ages and skill levels. Creativity is a must here… Ceramic counselor should LOVE working with clay !

Drawing/Painting

Chances of Placement = 85%

Rich artistic background is needed, being a part of / in charge of the Arts & crafts workshops at camp! Knowing to use various type of paint – Acrylic, gauche, coal, pastel, oil - is a big plus. The counselor should be able to offer guidance and encouragement as campers create and complete their drawing projects, know how to come up with new ideas for projects, teach the kids techniques and give them tips on how to draw. If you have samples of your own work – we would love to see it (bring it to the interview).

Hiking

Chances of Placement = 85%

All you nature lovers can participate in hiking activities at camp – taking kids to walk in various routs around camp and in the wild – helping kids to get to know and respect nature, how to navigate, to recognize plants and to enjoy their time outdoors (Counselors will be informed of any dangerous plants during the preparation week). Previous experience with traveling in the army or on your own can help. Hiking can include camping outside, rock climbing etc.

Horse riding

Chances of Placement = 85%

Helping kids with basics and more advanced skills, teaching “English” or “Western“ riding styles, taking care of the horses on the ranch (cleaning the stables, feeding and cleaning the horses etc.) you will need to bring boots and suitable riding clothes and be able work well with the other staff members.

Photography

Chances of Placement = 85%

Background and experience are a must. You will teach photography to campers with various levels of skills. You will probably be asked to take part in making the camp newspaper or the weekly update to the web site. Teach the camper all stages of photography – from designing and taking the picture, to developing and printing it in the dark room. And also help campers create a scrapbook of pictures of daily life at camp.

Riflery

Chances of Placement = 85%

If you are/were a riflery instructor or have previous experience gained during an army service, you’ll be able to apply for this position. The program includes shooting 0.22 caliber rifles in a riflery range, general instruction and rifle team coaching. Position includes – instructing groups of 12-15 kids, various levels, aiming & shooting targets that are about 10 meters away and also responsibility for maintaining the program’s safety system, accurate attendance and progress records. Knowledge in rifles maintenance is a must.

Cycling & Mountain bike

Chances of Placement = 80%

Experience and skills are needed. You will teach basic maintenance and leading bike trips of 1-8 days in the nature. Experience with maintenance, knowledge of bike repairs (changing flat tires, inflating tires etc.). first aid knowledge is an advantage.

Gymnastics

Chances of Placement = 80%

Teaching floor and equipment gymnastics: floor exercises, vaults, uneven / parallel bars, balance beam and more. You will need previous experience, be in good physical shape in order to demonstrate, have high safety skills and good English. You will work in a gymnastics hall, with all the necessary equipment.

Handy Craft

Chances of Placement = 80%

Variety of Arts & Crafts activities - Styrofoam, craft sticks, coloring, gluing etc. More adequate for younger campers.

Kayaks/Canoe

Chances of Placement = 80%

Teaching kayaks/Canoes and participating in river and rafting trips. Skills and experience in teaching group of kids from all ages is an advantage. Daily instructional program will be held at different levels of skills and age groups. Counselors will also be responsible for care and maintenance of the kayaks/canoes. Usually, you will attend a pre camp LSI / WSI Red Cross course.

Nature

Chances of Placement = 80%

Nature lovers that have been hiking, exploring the environment, know a bit about plants and animals, and not afraid to “get their hands dirty”. After getting to know camp grounds, you will walk with the kids in the outdoors and teach them interesting things about their surroundings, collect interesting animals around camp (frogs, snails, lizards etc…), do fun water games etc. If you have previous background in biology or similar studies, that can really help!

Sailing

Chances of Placement = 80%

Teaching sailing and boating in the camp’s lake. Skills, experience and knowledge of different kinds of boats, is needed. Obviously, counselors must have swimming experience and usually, you will attend a pre camp LSI / WSI Red Cross course.

Soccer

Chances of Placement = 80%

Camps know that soccer is one of our strong sports in Europe and are looking for those people that have not only played the game – the ones that LOVE it! Soccer counselors must know the game rules, moves, and be in good shape, in order to coach the kids at camp! Among other things – Arranging camp tournaments will be a part of your duties

Video Filming/Editing

Chances of Placement = 80%

Helping campers practice video filming and editing techniques, create camp-oriented programs and short films. Previous experience is needed and knowledge in Cut-to-cut and using PC editing software are an advantage!

Volleyball

Chances of Placement = 80%

If you have good backgrounds in playing the game – been a part of a team or coached volleyball to kids or adults, you can be a part of the athletic team and teach kids at camp! You will teach the rules, the moves, the trick etc. Arranging volleyball tournaments will be part of your responsibilities, and you might end up playing in the camp’s team against other camps…

Archery

Chances of Placement = 75%

Help the campers become skilled archers / sharpshooters. Previous experience is needed, for teaching campers the skills of archery, arrange tournaments at camp, and teaching the safety rules required in order to be an excellent archer!

Go Karts

Chances of Placement = 75%

The kart track is the place to test the campers driving skills. We are looking for counselors that have experience in go-karts and some mechanical skills.

Piano Playing

Chances of Placement = 75%

If you have vast knowledge and experience in playing the piano, and you can read and teach musical notes, you would be able to join the musical team at camp and give piano lessons to kids at various ages and skill levels. Performing in staff concerts and participating in musical events at camp such as shows, musicals and talent-shows will be a part of your schedule.

Windsurfing

Chances of Placement = 75%

Free spirits that love the water are in need here… among the counselor’s responsibilities: Care and maintenance of the surf boards, teaching kids from various ages and skill levels, and of course teaching all safety rules concerning. Obviously, counselor must have swimming experience and usually, you will attend a pre camp LSI / WSI Red Cross course.

Wood Working

Chances of Placement = 75%

You’ll teach and supervise kids with the use of power tools and how to make different things such as: chairs, tables, birdhouses etc. previous experience with power tools is a must.

Baseball

Chances of Placement = 70%

If you played some baseball, know the rules and can teach them to kids of various ages – let us know! Counselors will arrange tournaments at camp (or against other camps), and will be a part of big sport events at camp!

Judaica

Chances of Placement = 70%

Organizing activities that can teach kids in a fun way, all about Judaism – from religious holidays and their meaning, special symbols, wise stories from the bible etc. Bringing some of your Israeli personality into your work can be an amazing experience both for you and the campers! Judaica activities can be in many fun things: arts & crafts, Hebrew games, sport games with special rules and more… New and fresh ideas will always be welcomed, because no one can teach kids better about Israel than Israelis!

Judo

Chances of Placement = 70%

We are looking for Judokas and instructors that have either practiced Judo for many years, or are certified coaches. You will, of course, teach the kids all about Judo. You will be in charge of a daily instructional program for different age groups, and on different skill level.

Track & Field (Athletics)

Chances of Placement = 70%

If you are athletic, if you love sports – running especially, you can join the athletic team at camp, and help train kids and help them getting into shape. Improving campers’ fitness and having fun participating in track and field events on camp’s athletic fields is a part of your responsibilities. So get in shape and join the team!

Hebrew Teaching

Chances of Placement = 65%

As Israelis, you can contribute a lot by teaching people around you how to speak in Hebrew, pronounce words, reading, etc. Mostly the work will include assisting 12-year old kids learning their “Haphtarah”. Only people that has actually taught Hebrew at some stage can apply for this position (soldier-teachers for example).

Aerobics

Chances of Placement = 60%

If you have a lot of experience guiding Aerobics – stretching, warm-ups, training – you can apply for the Aerobics position at camp. You can also apply if you worked as a fitness trainer before or during the army service. This position requires a lot of energy, and being in good shape!

Costuming

Chances of Placement = 60%

Usually this division may be a part of the theater division, you will help prepare costumes and set designs for camp shows.

Kindergarten Teacher

Chances of Placement = 60%

Taking care of very young kids (ages 3-5) of the senior staff in camp. You’ll need to spend time with them, playing, swimming, singing etc. you have to be very responsible for this job, very patient and very loving and careful. Previous experience is needed.

Choreography

Chances of Placement = 50%

Dance is an extremely popular program in most camps. Dance program includes basic intermediate and advanced instruction in Ballet, jazz, modern, choreography and musical theatre. The counselor has to have an extensive background in dance and have a lot of love to the subject! Besides teaching kids, you will participate in camp shows, musicals and entertainment events!

Dance

Chances of Placement = 50%

General Information: Same job as for general counselors, but during the day you will teach an activity to different groups of kids, according to a set schedule. Specialist Information Teaching in all skill levels in all varieties of dancing such as: folk / modern dance, jazz / aerobics.

Diving

Chances of Placement = 50%

Teaching diving requires experience – a diving course of at least 2 stars, preferably 3 (or equivalent). Diving at camps is taught in the camp’s swimming pool – Learning how to use diving gear, breath properly, diving techniques and signals, etc. You will work with kids of various age groups and different levels of skills and experience.

General Counselor

Chances of Placement = 50%

Long hours (maybe 16 / 17) a day. Difficult, but very rewarding. The children need lots of attention and they need it "now". However, at the end of the season, there is nothing to describe your satisfaction. Those who have worked with kids know how true this is. English has to be well above average for this position. You and 1-2 other counselors will be responsible on 10-15 kids of the same age. During the day you will escort them to their activities and assist the specialists, eat meals and be with them during rest hours. You will live with the kids in the same cabin and spend all day with them. Usually you’ll have 3-4 free hours during the day, and one day off per week (usually 6 days off per summer).

Animal Care

Chances of Placement = 40%

Animal lovers that have no fear of “getting their hands dirty” – take care of animals, clean cages and feeding the animals. Teaching kids how to respect, treat and taking care of animals such as rabbits, chicken, snakes, birds etc. This position demands a mature and responsible person that has been around animals most of his / her life. So all you future vets, this is a great opportunity to practice…

Theatre

Chances of Placement = 40%

Same job as for general counselors, but during the day you will teach an activity to different groups of kids, according to a set schedule. You will help and sometimes even play in productions of full-length plays, musicals and cabarets.
